Section 0. Known Bugs and How to Avoid Them.

We're working hard to find and eliminate all the bugs in this
software. However, as of this release we still have a few tough
bugs for which we have not found complete solutions. The
following list details these bugs and offers recovery and work-
around methods:

1. Operation under Windows ME is unpredictable.

Symptom:	The control console starts correctly, but the
viewer when launched causes the camera to close.

Recovery:	None. Install on a non-ME machine.

Prevention:	To prevent this problem do not install
on a Windows ME system. Windows 2000 and Windows XP
		should function correctly.

Section 2. Notes on Installing and Uninstalling Pyrocam III Control Console

Uninstallation: Use the "Setup.exe" on the CD to install and reinstall. Follow the directions
given on the screen. If you are installing, a directory structure under

	  c:\Spiricon\Pyrocam III

will be built. The Driver directory contains the Windows WDM device driver and
.INF file for the Pyrocam III camera. All other programs and files will be found
in the Pyrocam III directory. You will need to know this in case manual
driver installation is necessary. The driver is PyroCam3.sys, and the
installation file is PyroCam3.inf

Manual driver installation: The Pyrocam III device driver should install
automatically when you install the software. If it does not, for
instance when you add a camera, your system will
ask you for a driver when you plug in the camera. When this occurs, follow
the instructions in the driver installation dialogs, point the dialogs at the Driver directory
to complete the installation. If Windows asks you if you wish to continue using
an "Unsigned" driver, reply Yes.

Section 3. Windows requirements

	A. In order to install the Pyrocam III software, you must have administrative
	    privileges.

	B. In order to install new hardware (including a new Pyrocam III, even if
other cameras have previously been installed) you must have administrative
	    privileges.

	C. Spiricon places entries in two separate Windows Registry locations.
Entries that effect all users are placed in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE, and
are created at install time. Entries that effect individual users
are kept in HKEY_CURRENT_USER. These later entries are only available
while logged onto the user which created them.
